Just try

My manager got to work a little late this morning. He was visibly shaken. He had been at the scene of a auto accident on 270 (I think). As he stopped to help he didnt see quite what had happened, but a tractor trailer was on fire. The driver? appeared to be putting out the fire, but it was actually a crushed car. He ran to help, and saw there was someone trapped inside. It was a little unclear to me, but I believe he smashed one window with his Johnson. One person was saved with his help. He said he heard screams from the car and believed there was someone in the back. So he tried to break the rear window out, but the intense heat was too much. This isnt an exact account of what happened because it is second hand and he was pretty upset. But, Keith did what we should all do when people really need our help. He tried.

The winning move

I can not say that I was super on sunday, but I was able to play damage control for about 25 minutes. With a rider up the road and my guy on some decent form I knew I had to cut the lead in half at the very least. With the heat approaching the 100º mark at 30 second gap is enormous. I was able to cut the lead in half, but after my effort I was left with the thought that my head my explode if I didn't pull over. So I did. But, our guy was able to bridge the gap to what became the winning move. You might think he is the UniBomber at a quick glance, but its really the new 30+ Missouri State Champion, Jay Marbarger. With a lap to Go, Jay put in a move that made me so happy that I forgot how bad the second half of my season has been. For me the right rider won, and I don't think too many people will dispute that. It was the days third State Championship for the team after Turner Rapp and Austin Allison won their respective Junior age groups. Not a bad outing for the DW boys.

In the 1,2 race I was much more comfortable, but the beginnings of heat exhaustion were getting to me, and that just wasn't worth pursueing. So, I called it a day. If I had been coherent at all I would have probably stayed in to help Kurt and Chris, but I was never in the game.
